The Checklist

What we require in order to prepare a Fire Statement:

Information

  1. Project identification name and address.

  2. Brief project description.

  3. Identity by name of client (as per planning application).

  4. Identity of architect, planning consultant and approved inspector (if applicable).

  5. Total floor area of proposed development, and floor area per storey.

  6. Confirmation as to whether Policy D12(B) applies.

  7. Height to topmost floor as measured above lowermost ground level

  8. Area of basement storey and its depth below ground level (if applicable) .

  9. No. of flats (if applicable).

  10. Planning classes for each non-residential part.

  11. Narrative description of materials to be used in construction of building, including specifically structural frame and roof.

  12. Narrative description of materials to be used in construction of external walls.

  13. Single page PDF schedule of relevant drawings.

Drawings

  • Site Location Plan (to include local public highways sufficient to show fire appliance access to site from public highways) with site’s legal boundary clearly identified.

  • Site Location Plan to include local public hydrant(s).

  • Site Layout Plan annotated with distances from each building elevation to legal boundary.

  • Site Layout Plan to include identification of all site roadways/pathways to allow confirmation of Fire Service circulation routes (must include a scale bar).

  • Site Layout Plan to include Evacuation Assembly Point

  • Floor Plans of all floor levels (must include a scale bar) – single multi-page PDF file

  • Elevations (must include a scale bar) – single multi-page PDF file only

  • Cross-section capturing tallest floor level (must include a scale bar)
